This IndyCar season wrapped up on a high note for one of the sport’s fan-favorite veterans. Scott Dixon not only secured a difficult fifth championship, but he and his wife Emma Davies-Dixon immediately leaped onto the road to promote a documentary of their life in motorsport, Born Racer.

Chip Ganassi Racing announced today that 26-year-old Swede Felix Rosenqvist will join the team’s IndyCar Series program in the No. 10 NTT DATA Honda beginning in 2019. He will team up with five-time and reigning IndyCar Series Champion, Indianapolis 500 and 44-time race winner Scott Dixon.

Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett has declared today, Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, “Scott Dixon Day” in the city to honor the INDYCAR driver’s great accomplishments.

Scott Dixon was fully reclined, quietly watching NASCAR on television with friends, as the clock inched toward the IndyCar season finale. A fifth championship was one steady Sunday drive away and Dixon wasn’t the least bit stressed.

You don’t win 11 IndyCar championships without learning a few lessons along the way.

It is a paradox of auto racing that the faster the speed, the slower time unfolds. Even at 230 mph, expert drivers perceive all that rushes toward them — the track’s turns and banking, the cars ahead and even grandstands on either side — as a slow-motion ballet.

The last test of the 2018 IndyCar season was completed under warm and windy skies on Thursday at Sonoma Raceway.
