    Jamie McMurray and Kyle Larson sported new looks for the Sylvania 300 - the No. 1 FLIR Chevrovet, and the No. 42 Target Plaid Chevrolet. Both cars fought hard for track position, but experienced handling issues during the 300-mile race. McMurray finished 14th and Larson 17th.

    Chicagoland Speedway hosted the first race of the Chase. Larson led two laps and was the highest finishing non-Chase driver in the seventh position. McMurray battled for track position, but came up short in the 16th position and sits just two points shy of the 12th and final cutoff spot in the Challenger Round.
