Details of the Day
• Tonight’s race was the second consecutive NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race with a green-white-checkered finish
• McMurray won the Sherwin-Williams Fastest Lap Award, as the eligible driver to post the fastest lap of the race
• This was Larson's second consecutive top-10 finish, and fourth in eight races this season
• Larson was the top-finishing Sunoco Rookie of the Year candidate tonight
Kyle Larson, No. 42 Target Chevrolet SS: “We started off the race really tight, then the car got pretty loose. The crew worked hard to make the right adjustments in the first half of the race, and the Target Chevy was pretty fast for the rest of the night. After hitting the wall in the first practice and having to go to the backup car, I'm happy with our performance this weekend and the eighth place finish. Everyone on the Target team did a great job to earn this finish.”
Jamie McMurray, No. 1 Cessna Chevrolet SS: “A tough night for our Cessna team. We struggled to find the balance on our car tonight. As good as we were in practice yesterday, I certainly didn’t expect that tonight. Our guys worked hard on pit road and made a lot of changes to the car to battle back for a 16th place finish.”
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will be off next weekend, but will return to the track on Saturday night, April 26, at Richmond International Raceway for the Toyota Owners 400. FOX, Sirius/XM Channel 90 and MRN Radio will have live coverage beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET.
