Chip Ganassi, Owner & CEO


Chip Ganassi has been a fixture in the auto racing industry for over 30 years and is considered one of the most successful as well as innovative owners the sport has anywhere in the world. Today his teams include two cars in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, four in the IndyCar Series and one Daytona Prototype in the Tudor United SportsCar Championship.  In 2012 Ganassi was named by Complex Magazine as one of the “50 most influential people in the Auto Industry”.  His ranking of 17th was the highest rank for a person from North America from the racing industry.

Rob Kauffman, Co-Owner


Rob Kauffman has had a significant interest in the world of NASCAR for a number of years and is currently a co-owner of Chip Ganassi Racing in both its NASCAR and sports car programs. Kauffman has also been heavily involved in shaping and managing what has become the Race Team Alliance (RTA), NASCAR team’s collaborative business alliance, since its inception back in 2014. He has always had a significant interest in all things automotive, motorcycling and racing related. In 2006, he would start what would become RK Collection and RK Motors with the goal of creating an enterprise which would produce some of the nation’s best restored and most sought after muscle and collectible cars. He remains owner of chairman of both companies. Additionally, Rob is also a founding principal of Fortress Investment Group, a NYSE listed global fund manager.

Max Jones, Managing Director, NASCAR


Max Jones is in his seventh season as managing director of the Chip Ganassi Racing Teams’ NASCAR racing operation. He oversees all aspects of the team’s two entries in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and its single entry in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Prior to CGRT Jones was president and general manager at Richard Petty Motorsports for two years in 2009 and 2010. He has been a long-time executive in the NASCAR and IndyCar paddocks and is respected throughout the racing industry. Jones resides in Davidson, NC with his wife Linda.

Barry Wanser, Manager, INDYCAR


Barry Wanser manages Chip Ganassi Racing’s Indianapolis, IN-based Verizon IndyCar Series racing programs as the Team Manager (Competition). Wanser began his career with the team in 1997 and resides in Indianapolis.

Felix Sabates, Co-Owner


For decades Felix Sabates has been a trusted community leader throughout the Charlotte region for a myriad of reasons but most notably because of his business, civic and philanthropic endeavors. If the city of Charlotte had a Mount Rushmore, Felix’s likeness might be found on it as he has been active in promoting the community for over 40 years. This fun-loving Cuban American is also one of the most widely known and respected team owners in the NASCAR garage – a result of his nearly 30 years in the sport, his keen business sense, his close relationship with the France family and most of all because he is simply a “good guy."

Doug Duchardt, Chief Operating Officer


Doug Duchardt III is the Chief Operating Officer at Chip Ganassi Racing and oversees all aspects of a race team that has entries in NASCAR, IndyCar, IMSA and WEC. In all the organization races nine cars in five different touring series.

He has a championship pedigree with him as he was previously executive vice president and general manager at Hendrick Motorsports (“HMS”). He spent over 12 years at HMS where he directed all racing operations for a NASCAR team that fields four cars in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS). Under his watch, the team won seven MENCS Championships including a run of six consecutive from 2006-11.

Prior to HMS, the Morton, IL native spent over 20 years with General Motors where he most recently managed their entire North American motor sports initiatives with relationships in NASCAR, INDYCAR, NHRA, IMSA and SCCA.

He is a graduate of Missouri University of Science and Technology with a mechanical engineering degree. He earned a master’s degree in engineering from Purdue University. Most recently he completed his Advanced Certificate for Executives at Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management.

Mike Hull, Managing Director, INDYCAR


Mike Hull oversees Chip Ganassi Racing’s Indianapolis-based racing programs as the team’s Managing Director. He is the race strategist for the No. 9 Honda driven by four-time Verizon IndyCar Series Champion and 2008 Indianapolis 500 Winner Scott Dixon. 

The Los Angeles, CA native has the unique distinction of playing a part in each of the team’s 11 INDYCAR Championships, four Indianapolis 500 victories and over 100 Indy car wins. 

Hull began his career with the team in 1992 and resides in Indianapolis.

Scott Harner, Team Manager, INDYCAR


Scott Harner manages Chip Ganassi Racing’s Indianapolis, IN-based Verizon IndyCar Series racing programs as the Team Manager (Administration). Harner began his career with the team in 1993 and resides in Indianapolis.
